Reverand John Anderson Danks
John Isaac, youngest son of Isaac Munson, was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania July 6, 1857, was accidentally killed in 1898. He received a good education, and spent his early life in Virginia. Returning to Pennsylvania, he entered the employ of the H. C. Frick Coal and Coke Company as superintendent of their plant at Davidson, Pennsylvania, continuing eleven years until his death. He was a Republican in politics.
He married, at Tarentum, Pennsylvania, September 9, 1884, Sarah Ella Danks, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who survives him. She is a graduate of the State Normal School, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and is now a resident of Connellsville, a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and of the Outlook Club.
She is a daughter of Rev. John Anderson Danks , born in Venango county, Pennsylvania, March 11, 1826, died in 1896; he was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal church; member of the Pennsylvania House of Assembly, 1866, colonel of Sixty-third Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers in the civil war; first chaplain-in-chief of the Union Veteran Legion, an office he filled for nine years. He married, December 25, 1848, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Anna Reese, born there October 18, 1828, daughter of William and Jane E. (Trunick) Reese. Children of John Isaac and Sarah Ella (Danks) Munson; 1. Fred Danks, of whom further. 2. James C. (2), born December 7, 1890. 3. Marian Munson, July 20, 1895.
